Insulclock is the first system in the world that records the use of the insulin pen automatically, always knowing when, how much insulin and what type you have injected. Much more than a simple app.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there are currently 415 million people with diabetes in the world and by 2040, this figure will reach 642 million. 1 in 4 diabetes patients rely on insulin injections daily, and Type 2 and gestational diabetics sporadically.

The main problems faced by people with diabetes in their day to day are control and lack of adherence to insulin treatment, which can cause problems as serious as vision loss, retinopathies, non-traumatic amputations or even death. The fact that adherence to treatment is currently 64% is a problem that we can eradicate.

Aware of this problem, José Luis López and Jesús Arenas, Co-founders of Insulcloud, S.L., decided to join forces to solve it through INSULCLOCK.

INSULCLOCK is a project of the technology-based pharmaceutical startup, a pioneer in the development of state-of-the-art devices for the control and monitoring of chronic diseases. The first system developed has been INSULCLOCK®, which allows perfect control in the administration of insulin to insulin-dependent diabetic patients, turning the insulin delivery pen into a smart pen.

INSULCLOCK ® is the only device on the market that automatically connects (without human action) the insulin pen with the digital environment (Smartphone, PC and cloud), storing key information for the patient and/or their caregiver and their doctor in a single click. It is not an app, it is a system composed of a device that uses an app to communicate all the information. This data center, never before created in the market, is capable of:

Monitor the administration of treatment (when, how much and what type of insulin automatically 24/7).
Save glucose levels* (*currently manually).
Ensure the conservation of the properties of insulin, knowing at what temperature it is.
Generate alarms to avoid errors, forgetfulness, overdose, which lead to hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia that seriously affect the patient’s health and quality of life.
Make the diabetic’s notebook automatically and with total fidelity to what is really happening with the administration of the treatment, controlling insulin doses, glucose levels, notes and photos of meals.
Generate Excel and PDF reports with the medical history of the administration of the drug.
Involve a tutor (s) so that they are informed promptly of our evolution.
Establish direct communication with our endocrine doctor and/or diabetic educator, allowing you to have access to data in real time.
Improve the administration of the treatment thanks to our system that encourages the patient to maintain the recommended ten seconds of puncture, insulinizing correctly.
Compatible with most insulin pens.

Last March INSULCLOCK® went on the market in Spain after obtaining the CE marking. The next step will be its launch in the rest of Europe through several partners who will be in charge of marketing and finally, the jump to the United States will be made.
