RTDI attends the Marie – Sklodowska Curie Individual Actions Briefing

On May 28, Room F of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in Madrid hosted the national information day in which the main novelties of the 2018 call for Individual Actions (IF) Marie Sklodowska – Curie (MSCA) were presented.

This is one of the star calls of Horizon 2020 since its main objective is to give postdoctoral researchers the opportunity to improve their research career through contracts of up to three years in international reference centers. These actions are based on the mobility of researchers around the world, providing the possibility of developing a career development project in any institution in the world.

Two of the National Contact Points of this call, Jesús Rojo and Cristina Gómez Corchete, explained in detail the novelties of the 2018 call, with an expected closing date of September 12, and offered us practical and very useful advice when addressing the presentation of a competitive IF proposal. To end the day, Cristina García, third NCP of this program, moderated a discussion table in which three IF projects were presented from two different perspectives: that of the researcher and that of the host institution, both critical factors for the success of this type of proposals.

When choosing this program we must be aware that we are talking about variable success rates depending on the areas to which we apply (between 12% and 28% approximately), which must be projects that will have a very positive impact on the career of the researcher who requests it and that we must comply with the mobility rules imposed by the program.
