Major emerging technological trends: Take part in outlining the future of European R&D!
During the Innovative Europe Week (IEW 2019) the PREFET project launched an open consultation on the ~50 trends for new technological paradigms with maximum potential for impact and growth in the areas of Bio/Health, Environment and ICT. All experts in these areas can participate online in this exercise, which will influence European research funding policies in the coming years.

We really invite you to participate in this PREFET Open Consultation! During the last months we have worked intensively on the identification of emerging technological trends with high impact potential, designing a process that integrates artificial intelligence with human intelligence. As a result, we have prepared a list of between 40 and 50 trends in 3 main areas:
• Energy, Environment and Climate Change: with the focus on radically new ways of treating water, managing energy networks, achieving the objectives of Net Zero infrastructures, climate change and algae or marine ecosystems, and metamaterials (as examples of some of the trends on the list).
• Health and Life Sciences: with trends such as human augmentation, new genomics for cancer, development and manufacture of drugs using Artificial Intelligence, and bio robotics.
• ICT for society: emphasizing the main challenges in Quantum and Neuromorphic Comutation, new technologies for people’s privacy, digitization of chemistry, etc.
Now comes the time to support the enrichment, improvement, prioritization and consensus around the results of the process carried out, which will be taken into account in the definition of future European calls for projects for disruptive R&D (for example, the FET Program).
Additionally, of the most valuable responses to this survey, we will invite a group of high-level experts to work on the selection of the top 15 trends during an event in Madrid on November 13 and 14, 2019.
Finally, all active participants will receive early access to the detailed information we have collected from each trend through Artificial Intelligence (specific sub-trends, relevant contact opportunities…).
